Marty Whitfield
Owner
In 2010, Marty founded MJ Custom Builders, LLC after spending over a decade as a construction superintendent for two well-known construction companies. Armed with a construction engineering degree and a wealth of experience in both commercial and residential construction, Marty built MJ into one of the premier custom building and renovation firms in the area. He is licensed as a SC Residential Builder and currently oversees all construction operations with a heavy focus on quality, subcontractor relations, and schedule.
Jim Nichols
Owner
After spending several years as project manager for a premiere upstate South Carolina builder, Jim joined MJ Custom Builders, LLC as partner in 2018. With an extensive background in custom residential construction and development, Jim has helped grow MJ into one of the most recognizable builders in the area. He is licensed as a SC General Contractor and currently oversees all business operations including financials, procurement, and business development.
